Managing Director
Kirk joined XYZ Rail & Civils in the 1990s as a plant operator, before working his way up to lead the business as Managing Director since 2009. Kirk’s relentless drive for excellence has created our culture of high performance, client satisfaction and continual improvement that gives our clients full confidence that we will deliver every project to the highest standards. Kirk’s has a passion for innovation and efficiency and he believes there is always a better way. He has led amazing developments including our revolutionary ballast undercutters that have transformed track refurbishment during short railway possessions, and he oversaw the creation of London Southend Airport Railway Station, that is still the UK’s only railway station not managed by Network Rail or a train operating company.

Alan Irvine
Commercial Director
Alan is a Commercial Director with experience in managing and controlling the financial and contractual aspects of a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects with the key market Sectors of Rail, Energy, Water, Waste, Education, Residential procured through JCT, NEC, ICC, Network Rail and PfS. Alan has a strong track record in ensuring project targets are set, maintained and ultimately achieved with the ability to assimilate large amounts of complex data, assessing risks and gains against business criteria to generate decisive commercial results. Alan’s role involves driving the commercial performance, setting individual strategies, work winning, estimating interface when pricing and agreeing tenders with the Client, in addition to interfacing on all commercial issues and contractual obligations, implementation of Corporate Governance and ensure operational effectiveness with specific responsibilities related to financial, contractual and risk management for the Business Unit.

Stephen Pinkney
Regional Director
Stephen joined XYZ Rail & Civils in 2018 after nineteen years with Network Rail. Stephen has led key projects including the Kings Cross re-modelling programme, Thames Link resilience programme, and LNE’s overhead line resilience and S&C refurbishment programmes. Stephen specialises in programme leadership and innovative management, so his expertise is helping us maintain our exceptional standards during our exciting five-year development programme.
